Ampair secures Sun City Entertainment Centre refurbishment contract

Ampair secures R30 million HVAC contract for the Sun City Entertainment Centre Refurbishment.

Sun Internationals iconic holiday and entertainment resort in the North West Province is in the midst of an R800-million refurbishment. This includes the popular Entertainment Centre which will soon be home to arcade games, laser tag, ten pin bowling and other fun activities for visitors. The new centre will also house a South African Hall of Fame honouring the country’s sportspeople and performing artists, as well as an optimised Convention Centre on the upper level.

Ampair was appointed as the HVAC contractor with the primary task of ensuring internal climate is regulated at the ideal temperatures.

“We will be stripping and refurbishing the existing AHUs completely from the base of the units, including the supply air fans, chilled water coils, electric heating, controls, dampers and more to ensure a completely new unit which we’ll also be commissioning. We’ll be working within tight time constraints as we only have 4 days to replace all the ducting and insulation in the new ceilings before the main contractor closes them again, but are confident in our team to get the job done,” says Johan Swanepoel, Regional Manager, Ampair.

Project will commence on 11 January 2016 and is expected to be completed by mid-October 2016.
